Shale Gas exploration back on Track?

The decision by North Yorkshire County Council on 23rd May 2016 to approve a planning proposal for hydraulic fracturing marks the first approved application of this type since 2011.

The decision is expected to trigger a new round of applications for “fracking” in the search for shale gas. The UK has large resources of shale gas buried deep underground, which offers the nation potential for an alternative source of energy with commensurate reduction in reliance on imports.

Halletec are familiar with the issues involved and are well placed to advise landowners with regard to proposals for gas extraction on their land.
