Geology forms part of the bedrock in the diverse and expanding environmental field in which the firm currently operates. This may range from searching for and assessing minerals for commercial exploitation through contaminated soil surveys, hydrogeological assessment for water resources to acting as an expert witness in a planning appeal or a dispute resolution process.
Halletec personnel have extensive geological experience much of it gained from working within the minerals industry in a variety of minerals including, clay, coal, limestone, flourspar, silica sand, sand and gravel, together with building or dimension stone.
We can also provide ceramic advice in the extraction and processing of clays for brick manufacture. A relatively recent addition to this area of our work is the use of ARMS, (Alternative Raw Materials) such as waste glass in bricks that can result in significant environmental and economic benefits to the manufacture of bricks.
