Environment

Halletec has for long maintained a strong environmental theme in all its endeavours on behalf of clients because we believe in safeguarding, and wherever possible, enhancing our environment for the benefit of future generations. Nevertheless, we find it is often possible to turn what may initially be regarded as environmental problems, into advantages that can help to facilitate development potential.

Driven by the European Habitats Directive along with an increased awareness of the environment, many regulatory authorities are increasingly demanding pre application environmental assessments to be undertaken. Halletec can take you through this ever expanding and complex process and help to achieve your objective.

We also undertake biodiversity surveys and prepare biodiversity action plans which are designed to assess existing character and can be used as a management tool to maintain and enhance land ranging from small sites to large landholdings.

Our Ecologists hold DEFRA licences authorising them to handle Great Crested Newts.

For ecological surveys contact Jenny Hodgkiss at: j.hodgkiss@halletec.co.uk

Many planning authorities are also demanding contaminated soils surveys at the planning application stage either prior to granting approval or as a condition attached to the consent certificate. Similarly it is increasingly a requirement for noise surveys to be undertaken in support of a planning application.

For noise, dust, air quality and contaminated soils surveys contact Simon Rafferty at: s.rafferty@halletec.co.uk

For Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) contact Gary Hughes at our Lincoln office or email at: g.hughes@halletec.co.uk
